Modern Illustrations by Tricia Rennea

If you like Modern Illustrations as much as I do you will love the work of Tricia Rennea. Her art is so clean, vibrant, nostalgic; I can go on and on :). So much thought goes into Tricia's illustrations and looking through her shop you could tell a story by the pieces you find. Below are some beautiful examples from her shop Trillustrations.

Now that you've settled into your new Mid Century Modern home it's time for a nice house warming party!

A few jet setting friends will have to travel to your new home so make sure to send the invitations early.

Dinner is done. I wonder who brought dessert?

Great music will make your party memorable! Maybe a little Smooth Jazz?

You were just happy to see old friends but their gifts were a nice surprise.

It's windy outside make sure your guest remember their hats!

The party was a hit but there's a bit of a mess to clean. Good thing you've got Dynamist!

Retro Space Flight Design

Hello again everyone! Caring for an ill family member took precedence over working on this blog so there has been a very long gap since my last post. Anyway it's time again for some Retro coolness from great Zazzle artist. This stamp by The Luminary Gallery recently won a Today's Best Award(TBA) and fits in here nicely. Rockets and UFOs take flight leaving a nice trail pattern behind on a Grey gradient background. Such a great way to get your Retro Sci-fi fix :).

Old Theaters - Artwork of Anthony Ross

2010 may be the hottest year on record. Many of us had days this spring that felt like summer. Some in the Gulf Coast are braving the oil slick just to cool off. Those not near an ocean or lake will be hitting the pool. There is another favorite pastime to beat the heat. It doesn't even require getting wet. Watching movies. Movie theaters were among the first industries to install air conditioning. When the heat was bad it probably didn't matter what was showing. Most of the beautiful old theaters are a thing of the past. The multiplexes and megaplexes of today are air condition but they just aren't the same. The neon lights and Art Deco style of the old cinema is still present in the artwork of Anthony Ross. I was amazed to find some of his reproductions at Zazzle.com.

50's Science Fiction Movie-Earth vs The Spider

Hello everyone. I must admit that I am behind on getting Retro Town up and running. The latest wrench in the works has given me an idea for my first post. Sorry it will be such a short one. It seems a spider eggs have hatched in my room. They are crawling on me as I type! It doesn't look like I will get much sleep tonight. Actually it is already after 2:30 in the morning.

Anyway something hit me as I was brushing off another tiny spider. No not it's mother. One thing that screams Retro is a Cheesy Horror/Sci-fi movie. So for now ere is a trailer from the 1958 film Earth VS The Spider (a.k.a The Spider and Earth vs. the Giant Spider). I hope you enjoy it.
